Search Engine Submission

So you have your new website ready. What are you going to do next? Well...it's only logical that you want to place it somewhere where people can notice and visit your site as often as possible.

The first thing that you may want to do without spending a dime is to submit your URL to a search engine. Talking about search engines, there are easily thousands of them around. Some of the more popular ones are Google, Yahoo and MSN. However, simply posting your site to these major search engines have a disadvantage. If your site doesn't have excellent content or is not so call search engine optimized, chances of people seeing your site is pretty remote. Maybe even non existant.

So how does one go around this problem you may ask. well, you can get someone to optimize your site,( SEO ) improve on your content or get lots of quality links.

Another way of doing it would be to submit your site to smaller search engines which may prove to be rewarding if you choose the right niche for your site. These smaller search engines may not have as much traffic as the major ones. However, your chances of getting noticed is definitely better and proportionally improved.

Before you even think of ranking high on search engines. ( top 3 pages ) Your page must first be indexed. This means that when you do a search with your full URL, the system will return with your site being found. If after you type in your site name into the search column and system cannot find your site. Then your website is not indexed. ( system doesn't even know that your site exist)

The best way to get indexed fast is to get good back links from relevent sites to yours. This can, in most cases get your site indexed within 48hours. Once this happens, you can start to optimize it to the search engine's requirements and be on your way to climbing the ranking ladder.

If all the above sounds greek to you. Take heart! As the saying goes. If you can't beat them , then join them. Get your own search engine and get others to submit to you instead. HaHa...sounds interesting? Check this out :
